Knotfest Australia will return for its third iteration in February and March 2025, with organisers announcing the dates and venues for the upcoming travelling heavy metal festival tour today.
So, here are the dates and venues you need to know:
In 2025, Knotfest Australia will take place over a week. The fun begins at Flemington Racecourse, Melbourne, on Friday, 28 February, before heading to the Brisbane Showground on Sunday, 2 March, and Centennial Park, Sydney, the following weekend (Saturday, 8 March).
While the dates and venues are finally here, the line-up hasn’t dropped yet, but you can register for line-up details and register for early bird pre-sale tickets here. The line-up is set to drop this Wednesday, 16 October, at 7 pm AEDT.
What we do know, however, is that Slipknot – Knotfest is the Iowa nu-metal legends’ titular music festival – will return to Australia in February/March 2025 to headline the event.
Slipknot were revealed as next year’s headliners back in March. This year, the band kicked off their 25th anniversary celebrations with tour dates where they exclusively played songs from their 1999 self-titled album. No Duality, but yes to Surfacing. Heavy AF.

When tour promoters Destroy All Lines announced that Slipknot would return to headline the Aussie iteration of the festival next year, they revealed that fans who attended this year’s event (which was headlined by Pantera and Disturbed) would be first to access an exclusive first run of tickets to Knotfest 2025. Those tickets will be available before all other pre-sales.
Knotfest is renowned for its two-stage, clash-free setup. In a review of the Brisbane edition of the festival for The Music, Tim Price said the inaugural Knotfest “was a RESOUNDING success”. Price gushed about Slipknot’s headlining performance: “Blasting through tracks that spanned their entire career, this was an experience far more than simply a festival set.”
