'Food' will be out in April
Muti-award winning and nominated artist Kelis has confirmed the release date of her upcoming album Food.
The record, her sixth studio release, will be unveiled on Friday 25 April via her new home of Ninja Tune through Inertia locally.
Food has been produced by TV On The Radio founder Dave Sitek, who has also previously worked with Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Liars and Foals - so it looks like the alternative sound that Kelis has been experimenting with over the last few years is set to continue.
The singer first broke out in 1999 with her empowering and sassy r&b anthem Caught Out There. In the years since, her music has shifted slightly and 2010's Flesh Tone was a complete departure from her urban roots, showing off a move into the dance and electro genre.
