The news comes just days ahead of the album’s release.
Jungle (Live Nation)
Jungle’s new album Volcano is out in just a few days (this Friday, August 11, to be exact) but they’ve just given Australian fans a new set of dates to look forward to, announcing an east coast tour for next May.
The run will kick off in Naarm/Melbourne on Friday May 17, when the UK electronica heavyweights take to the stage at Festival Hall. From there, they’ll head to Meanjin/Brisbane, playing the Fortitude Music Hall on Sunday May 19, before wrapping up at Eora/Sydney’s Hordern Pavilion on Wednesday May 22.
Tickets for the run go onsale at midday this Friday, following two presales: one for the band’s own fanclub at 10am tomorrow (August 9), and one for Live Nation members at 11am the next day (August 10). See here for more info on all the sales.
Jungle’s last tour Down Under happened just over a year ago, when the band visited for Splendour In The Grass 2022 (with bonus headliners taking place in Melbourne and Sydney). Before then, we caught them on the For Ever tour in 2019; reviewing the Brisbane stop for The Music, Lauren Baxter wrote that Jungle offered “a well-rehearsed and slick production”, gelling with the crowd to form “a symbiosis of groove”.
Volcano will be Jungle’s fourth studio album, following 2021’s Loving In Stereo. In addition to the record itself, the band will release a full-length feature film exclusively for their fan club – you can find access to it here. Thus far, singles from Volcano have included Candle Flame, Dominoes, I’ve Been In Love and Back On 74.
