The Perth leg of Juicy Festival has come under fire after the touring R&B and hip hop event reportedly ran out of water.
The festival, which hosted Ne-Yo, Ja Rule, Bow Wow, Xzibit, Chingy, Pretty Ricky, Mya, Lloyd and Twista, took place at Red Hill Auditorium on Friday, during which temperatures soared to 38C.
As PerthNow reports, four people were taken to hospital due to heat exhaustion, with others noting on social media that a lack of shade and water made the festival unbearable, while eight ambulance interventions were required at the 5000-capacity venue.
A St John WA spokesperson said that paramedics responded to dozens of calls for help throughout the festival.
One patron noted that people were “dropping like flies” on the Juicy Festival Facebook.
Another said they saw people who had passed out being carried out of the venue.

“The Perth venue Red Hill auditorium was not equipped with a sufficient amount of water in such extreme heat conditions,” one attendee shared.
They also claimed that the venue ran out of water and all non-alcoholic drinks, with the exception of Red Bull, within two hours of gates opening
“We weren't even allowed a pass out to get water from our cars,” they added.
“No shade or temporary shelter whatsoever was provided to be able to escape the savage heat at all. People were collapsing from heat exhaustion left, right and centre. Sunscreen stations were not available to reapply after sweating it off from the blistering sun.
“The health and safety of anyone who attended was not [taken] seriously at all.”
