The countdown is on until the opening night of one of Australia’s most exciting new concert events, Night At The Barracks, and in anticipation of his gig there, Aussie legend Josh Pyke stopped by the space for an intimate performance of his classic, The Summer.
The live performance, premiering today via The Music, arrives ahead of Pyke’s full band gig there alongside Emma Donovan & The Putbacks on September 16.
“The Barracks is such a beautiful spot,” Pyke said. “There was a real sense of magic being in a space like that with the lights casting a mysterious glow and the buildings looming behind me. I’m really excited to play with the whole band there and bring it to life again!”
Jessica Mauboy will take to the stage for the first concert on September 9, under the glistening Manly stars, commencing what a program of live performances from Australia’s biggest names in music, theatre, ballet, dance, rock, opera and jazz.
The string of shows runs from September 9 to October 9, and further performers include Something For Kate, The Rubens, Winston Surfshirt, Tim Finn and more.
