More than 35 local and international acts have been added to the roster for the 16th annual event
The annual Blues On Broadbeach festival on the Gold Coast has added more than 35 Australian and international artists to its line-up for this year's event, including standout drawcards Jimi Hocking's Blues Machine, Harts and Louie Shelton Bluesland, among others.
Joining existing must-sees such as Bonnie Tyler, Cold Chisel founder Ian Moss, Slim Jim Phantom Trio, Cash Savage & The Last Drinks, Hussy Hicks and tonnes more, the new crop of acts ensure an absolutely packed roster of world-class blues musicians — almost 70 acts on 20 stages — set to keep audiences happy this May.
Also entering the fray are the likes of Mojo Webb, the Darren Jack Band, Juzzie Smith, Asa Broomhall, Nick Charles, Phil Barlow & The Wolf, Johnson Stompers, Byron Short & The Sunset Junkies, Captain Dreamboat, Aaron West & The Custodians, Benny D Williams and more.
Broadbeach Alliance chief executive Jan McCormick said that the organisers of the festival are "extremely proud" of the crop of acts they've curated for the 2017 event, whose predecessor generated a boost of about $20 million for the Gold Coast economy.

"We have international stars performing, local home-grown talent, and I’m confident to say that when you come into the festival, you will be absolutely blown away with the artists on offer," McCormick said in a statement.
"Visitation numbers are increasing every year and we are expecting this trend to continue, with thousands of people already travelling from interstate and overseas for the event."
More than 160,000 visitors are expected to roll through the festival grounds over its four-day span from 18-21 May; perhaps the most surprising thing about the quality of the line-up is that Blues On Broadbeach is a free-entry event, meaning you're able to pull up a spot and treat yourself to some seriously excellent music at no nominal cost.
That's an insane proposition, in the absolute best way.
