“We couldn't be more excited to be getting back together again."
Sydney indie rockers The Jezabels have announced a massive tour around the country to celebrate a decade since the release of their first full length studio release.
The 2011 album Prisoner was released to widespread critical acclaim thanks to hits like Endless Summer and Trycolour. It even peaked at #2 and earning gold status on the ARIA charts, and shot to #1 on the itunes charts upon release.
Now, the band will head out throughout June next year to celebrate ten years since the album hit shelves, stopping off in Adelaide, Perth, Byron Bay, Brisbane, Canberra, Newcastle, Sydney and Melbourne.
“We couldn't be more excited to be getting back together again for an Australian tour to celebrate the tenth anniversary of our debut album," the band stated. "We are pleased to say we'll be playing this baby live in full for the first time. It's been a hell of a decade since it came out, but it's made us all the more grateful for some of the things we took for granted."
They continued, "like so many bands, playing our records live was always as important, if not more important, than making those records. We can't think of a better way to celebrate Prisoner and say thank you to our fans that have supported us over the years than to announce this tour. We hope you can join us.”
Tickets for the shows are on sale from this Thursday, 04 November. For all the info, head to theGuide.
