Jack's Mannequin & Something Corporate Vocalist Announces Australian Tour

Pop-punk is back in fashion, and not many songwriters have captured the emotional resonance, and heart-on-your-sleeve singalong anthems like Andrew McMahon In The Wilderness has. 

The Jack's Mannequin and Something Corporate (SoCo) vocalist is returning to Australia in February 2023 for a string of East Coast shows, performing hits from the catalogues of both bands and pulling from his solo repertoire. 

The Early Bird pre-sale starts tomorrow (Thursday, 8 December) at 9 am local time - sign up for the pre-sale here. General Public tickets will go on sale this Friday, 9 December, at 9 am local time. The venues are intimate, and tickets are expected to sell quickly. The tour is presented by Destroy All Lines.

After finding success with SoCo songs such as I Woke Up In A Car and Punk Rock Princess in the early 2000s, McMahon later resurfaced with the more personal music outlet Jack's Mannequin, where the group released the classic pop-punk/emo record Everything In Transit, which featured tracks like The Mixed Tape and Dark Blue.

In 2006, following his battle with Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia (ALL), Andrew launched the Dear Jack Foundation, which provides programming to benefit adolescents and young adults diagnosed with cancer.  

McMahon is recognised for his piano-led, impossibly catchy pop-punk. His new solo songs, VHS and Stars, showcase his eternal staying power and songwriting star quality.

We caught up with the singer when Andrew McMahon In The Wilderness was releasing his second solo record, Zombies On Broadway. "My work is a love letter. If there is some truth to be found and something conceptual in it, there’s both a confrontation and embrace of that lifestyle and a sense of celebration and joy in the face of what could be trickier times," he told us. 

"I find the conceptual part of it is that line of tension and celebration and pushing a little too far and hard and having to come back and find yourself in the middle somewhere. But there are certainly parts where I’m confronting my own demons and some of my personal history in the location I recorded this album. I think it certainly came with having to let go of some things and wrap myself around others. But you know, I’m now better for it all."
