Is Machine Gun Kelly Changing His Name?
Fans asked the singer to take “machine gun” out of his name, claiming that the moniker glorifies automatic weapons.

Reports have surfaced to suggest that Colson Baker, better known under his stage name Machine Gun Kelly, is looking to change the name everybody now knows.
According to a new Instagram post, it seems that Baker is asking fans to call him “Machine” after fans have pled with the rapper-turned-pop-punk star to change his name. In a video posted to TikTok by comedians Chad and JT, the conversations about his moniker began at a recent concert.
Footage found fans urging Baker to take the “machine gun” out of his name, claiming that the moniker glorifies automatic weapons. In the video, Baker asked separate fans what they thought to a group of punters chanting “Change your name”.

However, according to a recent Entertainment Weekly report, Baker won’t change his name and will remain named Machine Gun Kelly.
In May, the singer’s concert film Machine Gun Kelly: Mainstream Sellout Live from Cleveland: The Pink Era landed in Australian cinemas, in which Baker performed beloved tracks like Bloody Valentine, My Ex’s Best Friend, I Think I’m Okay, and many more.
The movie arrived before two alleged violent incidents involving Machine Gun Kelly, in which he apparently started a fistfight with someone who made a comment about his fiancé, actress Megan Fox.
Before the alleged fistfight, Machine Gun Kelly punched someone else after he spotted a fan in the audience at Rock Werchter Festival in Belgium holding up a sign that read, “Just came from Mexico 4 U 2 punch me in the face”. He posted about the incident alongside the caption, “making dreams come true”.
“Why do you want me to punch you in the face so bad?” he asked the fan in a clip shared to social media, who yelled off camera, “I love you!”
“I got rings on, dude. That shit’s gonna hurt,” Machine Gun Kelly responded, before contemplating out loud whether he should do it, adding, "Obviously, if I punch you, I'm gonna wanna punch the fuck out of you; I feel bad. You're in the front row singing all the words."
The dream come true followed Machine Gun Kelly performing Maybe with Bring Me The Horizon’s Oli Sykes at this year’s Rock im Park, recreating chemistry they found on record.
