Is A New Oasis Album Imminent?

While you may still be reeling by the news that Oasis have reformed and will go on tour next year, you may want to sit down for this bit of potential news: a new album may be on the way, and soon.

According to a recent post to X (formerly known as Twitter) by Liam Gallagher – who you shouldn’t always take seriously when he’s on a posting spree, as many of his tweets are for laughs – a new Oasis album is already done.

Responding to a fan asking if it’s true Oasis will release a new album now that they’ve reunited, Gallagher replied, “Yep it’s already finished.”

As Stereogum pointed out, last year, Noel Gallagher told Rolling Stone that he was working on a “a very, very heavily guitar-based stadium rock album,” which he also described as “euphoric.” If he still has that music sitting around, and considering saving those songs for Oasis, his brother would be the perfect singer.

Last week, The Music reported on the possibility of the Western Australian government attempting to lure Oasis to Perth for an exclusive gig.

The report surfaced after The West Australian called the Premier’s office late last month, and the Roger Cook government representatives didn’t say yes or no to the publication’s inquiries, leaving the rumour mill wide open.

And these comments didn’t help: “Oasis is an iconic act, and their reunion has created a huge amount of buzz around the world,” a spokesperson for the Cook government said. “The Cook Government is always on the lookout for exclusive blockbuster events that attract visitors to Western Australia, generate millions for our local economy and showcase our State as a must-see destination to the world.”

Tourism Council WA boss Evan Hall added, “We’d love to see Oasis in town, and we’d love to see an Australian exclusive here in Perth. The smart move is to lure them over as part of an Asian tour – if they do one.”

Upon announcing their reunion a few weeks ago, Oasis hinted that their live dates won’t end in the UK and Europe, with a statement on their website revealing that “plans are underway for OASIS LIVE ’25 to go to other continents outside Europe later next year.”
