Iron Maiden’s recently announced September 2024 Australian tour has been met with unprecedented demand, so much so that a second show has already been added in Melbourne.
The additional show was announced yesterday (23 October), following overwhelming demand in the multiple pre-sales on offer: the Iron Maiden fan club, Telstra, and venue/Ticketek pre-sale.
The new date occurs the night after the first date in Melbourne (Saturday, 7 September). General sale tickets for Iron Maiden’s Australian tour will be sold today at 11 am local time via the Iron Maiden and TEG Dainty websites.
How many cities will need extra shows for this upcoming tour? We’ll have to wait and see – there are still gaps between dates that could fit additional concerts.
“Due to overwhelming demand, a second Melbourne show has been added to The Future Past Tour 2024,” Iron Maiden wrote on Facebook yesterday. Like the original tour dates, the British heavy metal icons will be joined by special guests Killswitch Engage at the second show.
“We’ve really enjoyed playing all the shows on THE FUTURE PAST TOUR this year, and the reaction from our fans has been incredible,” band founder and bassist Steve Harris said in a press release upon announcing the band’s Australian tour. “Being able to play some of these songs for the very first time has made the tour even more memorable, and we can’t wait to continue it next year.

“We’re all really excited to finally be able to return to Australia, as we know our fans have waited so patiently for us over the past few years. It’s going to be great to get back there, especially with this new show. We promise you all it’ll be worth the wait!”
Band manager Rod Smallwood added, “All our best-laid plans to bring the Legacy Of The Beast Tour to Australia were derailed by the shut-down of the live music industry during COVID, but we assured everyone at the time that we would come back to Australia and, as our fans know, we always keep to our promises.
“So, as you would imagine, we’re very much looking forward to bringing this amazing new show to the Southern hemisphere and giving our loyal Australian fans the best Maiden show we can. You can be assured it’s worth the wait. See you all in 2024!”
