While we’re still in shock over the funk-meets-metal supergroup Infectious Grooves scoring a slot at this year’s Bluesfest, today, the band announced additional Australian tour dates.
Infectious Grooves’ upcoming Australian appearances now begin at the Forum in Melbourne on Saturday, 30 March, followed by Brisbane’s Fortitude Music Hall on Sunday, 31 March, Bluesfest Byron Bay on Monday, 1 April, Adelaide’s Hindley Street Music Hall on Thursday, 4 April, and wraps up at Sydney’s UNSW Roundhouse on Friday, 5 April.
Yep, you can see Rob Trujillo (bass, Metallica), Suicidal Tendencies vocalist Mike Muir and guitarist Dean Pleasants, Velvet Revolver guitarist Dave Kushner and former Slipknot drummer Jay Weinberg in theatres across the country this Autumn. Find ticketing information via the Infectious Grooves website.
In a press release, Trujillo said about the upcoming tour dates, “I’m super stoked to venture back to Australia and reconnect with my Aussie surf contingent, as well as celebrate 30 years of Infectious Grooves with a few gigs down under!”
Mike Muir added, “Infectious Grooves is gonna bring a super special extra Funk and Punk and everything in between raging gigs to Australia. These shows are short notice, but we guarantee they are gonna be full of ass-kicking, toe-tapping, bass-slapping, drum attacking, and high-octane roller-coaster grooves!
“ST had such a blast with the last tour we jumped at the opportunity to lock some dates in and get back down again to our Aussie friends and family, and make a whole bunch of new ones. So come on back and bring your cousins, nephews, nieces and next-door neighbours, and everyone else you can think of. Just warn them...tell them Cyco said, ‘These Freaks are here to party!’”

Weinberg, marking his first live appearance after ten years with Slipknot, concluded: “It’s an absolute honour to play with the legendary Infectious Grooves on this incredibly exciting Australian tour! Playing with some of my favourite musicians in one of the most beautiful countries, for some of the greatest fans of heavy music in the world… I couldn’t be more thrilled to get started. See you all soon!”
Infectious Grooves’ Australian tour mark their first concerts since 2019, and first Australian shows since 2008. Since forming in 1989, the band has released four albums (between 1991 and 2000) and toured across the globe.
