Glastonbury festival begins this Wednesday (26 June) and runs until Sunday (30 June), and for the first time, two of the headliners’ sets will be available to livestream globally.

NME reports that Coldplay and Dua Lipa’s sets will be live-streamed from the BBC.com website, with Glastonbury sets to be broadcast around the globe for the first time.

UK-based audiences usually get to watch all things Glastonbury via BBC iPlayer, but in the lead-up to this year’s festival, BBC has relaunched its website fit to host an international audience.

Dua Lipa will perform on Friday night from 10 pm—11:45 pm BST, and Australian early birds can watch her perform Physical, Houdini, and stacks more from 7 am AEST on Saturday (29 June).

Watching Coldplay might be a bit more difficult, as the band is due to perform a massive two-hour set from 9:45 pm to 11:45 pm on Saturday (Sunday at 6:45 am to 8:45 am AEST).

In addition to showcasing the headline sets from Coldplay and Dua Lipa, the revamped BBC website will host festival highlights and updates, so you don’t miss too much over the next few days.

In a statement, Tara Maitra, Chief Commercial Officer at BBC Studios, said the livestream of the 2024 Glastonbury headliners will offer fans from around the world a “front row seat” to the event.

Lorna Clarke, BBC Director of Music, said in a separate statement: “The global streams of Dua Lipa and Coldplay’s performances are another exciting addition to our offer, allowing us not only to unite music fans across the country but across the world with the opportunity to experience these world-class performances as they happen.”

Dua Lipa and Coldplay aren’t the only ones headlining Glastonbury this year: the multi-genre Worthy Farm-based music festival has also locked in SZA and Shania Twain, the latter headlining the Legends slot.

Aside from the headliners, the line-up is typically stacked, featuring the likes of legends PJ Harvey, LCD Soundsystem, The National, Cyndi Lauper, The Streets, Sugababes, Orbital, Bloc Party and Justice.

Aussies Confidence Man will take the Other Stage alongside Idles, Disclosure, Two Door Cinema Club, The Last Dinner Party, Nothing But Thieves, Bombay Bicycle Club, and more.

In addition to the already mentioned acts, Little Simz, Afrobeats star Burna Boy, singer and actress Janelle Monáe, Jessie Ware, Arlo Parks, experimental folk act Heilung, Nia Archives, Danny Brown, Sleaford Mods, James Blake, two-thirds of The xx – Jamie xx and Romy – Mannequin Pussy, Fontaines D.C., The Breeders and Aurora are set to perform.

Earlier this year, Glastonbury co-organiser Emily Eavis revealed that the festival will “likely” take a year off in 2026.

Glastonbury has to take a “fallow year” every few years, cancelling the festival to allow the farm's land to rest and regrow. The last fallow year was in 2018; another one is due soon.
