Hoodoo Gurus Add New Shows To 'Stoneage Romeos' Anniversary Tour

Hoodoo Gurus’ Back To The Stoneage tour – a run of shows celebrating the 40th anniversary of Stoneage Romeos – has proven popular amongst fans, with gigs in Thirroul, Perth, and Brisbane already sold out. To meet demand, new shows have been added in those cities.

The second show at Thirroul’s Anita’s Theatre takes place on Wednesday, 13 November, with Perth’s Astor Theatre receiving a second gig on Thursday, 12 December. After Hoodoo Gurus’ show at Brisbane’s Fortitude Music Hall sold out, a second show will take place at the Eatons Hill Hotel on Thursday, 5 December.

Tickets to the additional shows go on sale today at 10 am via the Hoodoo Gurus website.

In addition to the new dates announced today, Hoodoo Gurus have opened sales for the 40th-anniversary vinyl of Stoneage Romeos via Big Time Recordings/Universal Music Australia. You can pre-order your copy of the record here.

Stoneage Romeos was released in March 1984, featuring the timeless singles Leilani, Tojo, My Girl, and I Want You Back. It was an immediate hit for Hoodoo Gurus, earning widespread critical acclaim and winning Best Debut Album at the 1984 Countdown Awards.

Hoodoo Gurus are touring Australia throughout November and December with an all-star roster of special guests, including GANGgajang, Spy v Spy, Tumbleweed, Allniters, Dallas Crane, Screamfeeder and Rinehearts. You can find out which support band will open your show below.

In a statement, Hoodoo Gurus frontman Dave Faulkner said about the upcoming tour, “Stoneage Romeos was a pivotal album for us, and many of its songs have remained live favourites ever since. It’ll be great to play some of those ‘less-travelled’ songs from it on this tour – even though that means we’ll be playing longer sets to fit everything else in as well. Hah! To my mind, that’s a win-win situation.”
