The tour kicks off in just over a month's time
In the wake of her gorgeous, understated clip for sublime recent single Aeroplane, lauded Aussie songstress Holly Throsby has revealed the list of talented artists who will join her upcoming national tour in support of latest album After A Time.
Stepping up to the plate will be a diversity of acts, the ranks of whom include ascendant troubadour Elizabeth Hughes (in Katoomba), post-punk two-piece Oranges (Canberra), Sydney outfit NOIRE (Milton), singer-songwriter Tom Cooney (Brisbane), alt-pop darlings Shining Bird (Newcastle), garage-pop purveyors Body Type (Sydney), genre-hopping faves Sparkspitter (Adelaide), folksy-pop team The Finks (Melbourne), indie-pop treasure Felicity Groom and dream-pop duo Golden String (Fremantle) and, last but not least, indie-rocker Adem K and alt-country torchbearer Creature Of Habit (Perth).
This breadth of sound on offer shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone who's spent time with After A Time, Throsby's first album since 2011's acclaimed Team. The One Of You For Me scribe is all too happy to acknowledge the record's sonic depth while reflecting on the work, saying in a statement that the album "represents a change in direction for me".
"Electric guitars are used much more heavily, and there is less focus on traditional folk instruments. The band tracking was done fast and loose. The layered textures veer from clear and close to fuzzy and washed out. Some songs are reminiscent of On Night and Team, but there is a different kind of rawness present across the record — and one that I hope is quite immersive."

Undoubtedly, plenty of those hallmarks will be evident in Throsby's impending live performances, ably aided by her esteemed roster of support artists.
