Harry Styles Is The Most Popular Merchandise Artist In Australia

One year after wrapping up his Love On Tour run down under, Harry Styles has been revealed to be the most popular artist when it comes to merchandise sales in Australia and New Zealand.

According to the information and comparison website Merchant Machine, a new study has found that the Watermelon Sugar singer has beaten tough competition from Taylor Swift to be the most popular merchandise artist in Australia.

Even with the findings, if we check back next year, it’s fair to say that Taylor Swift will likely sweep any competition away following the Eras tour and release of her upcoming album, The Tortured Poets Department.

Merchant Machine analysed consumer search data to reveal the most popular merch in every country, discovering that Harry Styles is the most popular in 15 countries, Taylor Swift in nine countries – including the US and Canada – but BTS are the most popular of all, dominating in a whopping 30 countries.

Other interesting findings include the most popular merchandise artist in Japan (The 1975) and Laos (hardcore band Kublai Khan). Meanwhile, Canadian YouTuber Disguised Toast conquered in 16 countries.

Harry Styles even won over any sceptics at the end of his Love On Tour dates in Australia, getting Aussie legend Daryl Braithwaite on stage in Sydney to perform The Horses.

Introducing Braithwaite to the enthusiastic audience, Styles said, “It’s our last show in Australia, so it only felt right to do something a little bit special. Please welcome, Mr Daryl Braithwaite!”

Harry bowed to Braithwaite before launching into the song. "He's a Tim Tam; he's a shoey, he's Vegemite... He's Mr Daryl Braithwaite", Styles added.
