“Well, this may seem out of the blue … I joined the cast of a Bollywood movie earlier this year!!”
“It was a surreal experience for me, working alongside a really stellar cast with iconic Bollywood actors, in my very first acting role - it was something that I will never forget.”
Offering a unique cultural insight into Australian and Indian influences, Hindi Vindi is a film about protagonist Kabir, an Indian-Australian teenager who is trying to understand his cultural identity. This identity crisis is exemplified by his Indian grandmother's visit to his home city of Sydney. While Kabir and his grandmother lead vastly different lives and speak different languages, the two form a connection through music.
Sebastian plays James in the film, a character who provides comic relief alongside lead actor Mihir Ahuja’s role of Kabir.
While little is known about Sebastian’s role yet, the film’s writer and executive producer Jay Sharma assures that Sebastian’s acting debut has been received really positively in early screenings. Sebastian adds:
“I am really proud of this project, & if anything at least I know I made my Indian mum proud!”
Hindi Vindi is slated for release in Australia in September 2024.
