"It has been so incredible to see the amount of goodwill and support there is in the community."
Not-for-profit youth organisation Girls Rock! Adelaide has enlisted some serious local talent for a major fundraiser gig later this month.
Pop favourites Heaps Good Friends, alt-country outfit Dead Roo, indie folk band Hey Harriet, indie rock trio Contract Love and emerging duo Teenage Joa will perform at new venue Lion Arts Factory on March 30 to raise funds for the organisation’s first week-long camp in Adelaide this July.
“Since our launch in February it has been so incredible to see the amount of goodwill and support there is in the community,” Girls Rock! Adelaide co-director Hannah Fairlamb said.
“This year holds so many exciting things for us, including promoting some of South Australia’s best female and gender diverse artists at our fundraisers. We can’t wait to put on our first program in July.”
The camp is designed to provide a safe, empowering space for female, trans and gender-diverse youth aged 13-17, and uses music to “inspire confidence, encourage creativity, celebrate individuality and ensure opportunity”.
