G Flip and Ruel have been announced as the headliners of the return of triple j’s One Night Stand, with the national broadcaster set to drop hints about what the venue will end up being all of this week.
Revealed on the air this morning by Concetta & Luka, triple j’s One Night Stand will make its triumphant return in an Australian regional town on Saturday, 14 September.
The acts joining the headliners are producer and DJ What So Not performing a set with friends, Meanjin-born, Gamilaraay woman and singer-songwriter Thelma Plum, First Nations singer, songwriter and producer Sycco, WA breakthrough band DICE, and a triple j Unearthed competition winner.
To find out which regional town will host One Night Stand this year, you can tune in to triple j this week and keep up to date with details via the triple j website. The venue announcement will be revealed on triple j Breakfast with Concetta & Luka this Thursday (25 July) – the same day tickets will be released.
Tickets for this year’s One Night Stand will go on sale at 9 am local time on Thursday, 25 July, for the very affordable price of $10 plus booking fees. All proceeds will go towards essential funding for Support Act.
Back in April, triple j Drive hosts Abby Butler and Tyrone Pynor shocked listeners by announcing that the station’s beloved concert series, One Night Stand, would return after a five-year absence later this year.

Since announcing the return of the concert series earlier this year, triple j has been inundated with a whopping 2,087 submissions from punters, artists, council members, mayors, and local community members who want their town to present One Night Stand. This year’s event is set to be its largest yet.
2024 marks the 20th anniversary of the One Night Stand, which first debuted in Natimuk, Victoria, in July 2004 with a bill featuring Grinspoon, The Dissociatives, and Eskimo Joe.
The concert returned for another gig in a new city every year until 2020 (with the exception of 2015) when a planned event was scrapped due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The most recent edition was held in Lucindale, South Australia, in September 2019, with a line-up featuring Hilltop Hoods, Meg Mac, Ocean Alley, G Flip, and Chelsea Manor.
