Florence + The Machine kicked off their Australian tour in Perth on Saturday, 4 March, but that’s not all they’ve been doing: the band have covered Just A Girl by No Doubt, teasing a snippet overnight.
As an Instagram video reveals, singer Florence Welch is searching through her on-stage wardrobe in Australia when she finds a Yellowjackets varsity jacket, swinging it over her shoulders with a grin.
The clip is soundtracked by an ominous version of the No Doubt classic, opening with an unsettlingly beautiful piano before launching into a rock banger, Welch’s vocal perfect for this style of music.
She captions the post, “So happy I got picked for the team this year,” with the Yellowjackets Instagram account responding, “We make one hell of a team.” Check out the clip below.
There’s no word on when Florence + The Machine’s cover of Just A Girl will drop, but the new season of Yellowjackets premieres on Friday, 24 March, on Paramount+.

The most recent song Florence + The Machine have released is a reworked version of the Dance Fever number, Morning Elvis, featuring the US tour opening act, Ethel Cain, in December.
In the lead up to Dance Fever’s release, Florence + The Machine were teasing fans by drip-feeding details, with song titles randomly appearing as customised playing cards on the band's website and live performances of unreleased tracks occasionally finding their way into setlists.
Dance Fever was produced by Welch, Jack Antonoff and Glass Animals’ Dave Bayley.
The record, which was created predominantly in London, was recorded throughout the pandemic in anticipation of the world's reopening. It conjures the energy that we all missed during lockdowns including clubs, dancing at festivals and the overarching feeling of togetherness and community while anticipating the hope of reunions to come.
Dance Fever follows a myriad of incredible original music from the act that crosses all generations and demographics, from the band's debut album Lungs (2009) to How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful (2015).
