American popstar FLETCHER has postponed her Australian and New Zealand tour dates, citing a “private family matter”. Her tour was set to begin tomorrow (16 July) and continue into next week.
The Undrunk singer shared the news via a statement on social media yesterday (14 July), writing, “Hi fam, it absolutely breaks my heart to write this. I was supposed to be on a flight headed to Australia today and am no longer able to do that as I'm dealing with a private family matter that needs my immediate attention.”
She continued, “I know how long you've been waiting to see me, and I know how long I've been excited to bring you all this show.
“I'm so sorry from the bottom of my heart, and I'm devastated that this is the decision we had to make. Hold onto your tickets as we will be in touch as soon as we possibly can regarding rescheduled dates. You will receive an email from your point of purchase.”
FLETCHER was due to tour Australia and New Zealand this week and next week in support of her recently released second album, In Search Of The Antidote, which features the singles Eras Of Us (inspired by Taylor Swift’s The Eras Tour), Lead Me On, Doing Better, and Pretending.
The tour had three sold-out shows—Brisbane’s Fortitude Music Hall, Melbourne’s Festival Hall, and Auckland Town Hall—with limited tickets for the shows at Perth’s Metro City and Sydney’s Hordern Pavilion. FLETCHER has previously sold out tours in North America, Australia, and throughout Europe.

In a review of FLETCHER’s show at Melbourne’s 170 Russell in August 2022, The Music’s Michael Prebeg remarked on the dedicated audience she’d inspired: “The energy in the room is insane. It’s clear FLETCHER already has a really solid and devoted fanbase here, and she encourages us to help her make tonight the best night of their lives for everyone.”
Later that night, she told fans that she felt “empowered” by her sexuality after growing up in a “small conservative town in New Jersey.”
“Wherever you are on your journey, you are exactly where you need to be. You are loved and embraced,” FLETCHER assured her fans. She ended the night with special guest G Flip, ripping out their track Gay 4 Me in the encore.
