Five Finger Death Punch Cancel Milan Concert Due To Claims Of ISIS Threat

US heavy metal band Five Finger Death Punch have cancelled a gig in Milan, Italy overnight, due to fears that a terrorist attack would be carried out by ISIS at the venue, just a week after the horrific shootings at Paris' Bataclan hall. 

According to International Business Times, the hacktivist group Anonymous reportedly foiled plans made by the radical Islamic organisation to attack several locations in the US, Italy, Lebanon, Indonesia and Paris again on Sunday, including the Alcatraz venue in Milan where FFDP were scheduled to perform. 

Taking to Facebook, the band announced that the gig had been cancelled. 

"As some of you may be aware, there were many rumors today that the Milan show on Sunday, November 22nd will be targeted in a next wave of terror attacks like we saw in Paris last week," the online statement read.

"We did our best in a very short amount of time to work with the local promoter and authorities to ensure that security would be adequate. Unfortunately, we did not receive confirmation in time to satisfy our requirements and to ensure that our fans would be safe at the event. Therefore, we were forced to postpone the show to a later date. Please stay tuned for more info."

However, the Anonymous Twitter account later updated a post which denied having started any rumours about ISIS attacks occurring yesterday. 

"We did not spread any rumors about possible future ISIS attacks, and frankly, we do not know where the rumors come from," the tweet read. 

Other reported locations targeted by ISIS included multiple venues in Paris, a WWE live event in Atlanta, and University Pastoral Day in Lebanon.

Meanwhile, fellow heavy metal outfit Lamb Of God have cancelled all remaining dates of their European tour, which was also meant to include a show at the same Milan venue tomorrow night.

"Due to concerns brought to our attention by the venue security team yesterday in Tilburg - and continued general concerns across Europe - we have decided against putting our fans, our crew and ourselves in this position night after night and will be canceling the remainder of our performances in Europe," the band announced in a statement. 

"This is a decision we are making on behalf of the fans, our crew, and our band, as well as the well-being of everyone's family, friends and loved ones at home. Stay safe, and we will see you very soon."
