Glenelg Beach is a glorious scene at any time of the day, but never more so than at sunrise.
So it is just as well that the perfect opportunity to experience the South Australian sea and sand at sunrise has popped up to usher us all into a sunny Easter weekend.
Dawnbreak, the sunrise sober silent disco, is officially coming to Adelaide. After a run of sold out shows in Perth, Dawnbreak has catapulted on to a successful tour, and is hitting Glenelg beach on Good Friday, April 18th.
Dawnbreak is described as being “for those who choose to boogie in the dark,” while the rest of the country is fast asleep. In an interview with Glam Adelaide, the event organiser Shannon O’Connor – also known as DJ Shan - described Dawnbreak as “pure euphoria,” and says of the event, “We wanted to create an experience that wakes people up in the best way possible – through connection, music and movement.”
Attendees are encouraged to arrive at 5 a.m., while the dancing begins at 5:30 a.m. Event-goers will be bestowed with special headsets in order to ensure full immersion into sonic and physical jubilation.
At Dawnbreak, partygoers will dance the night away - literally. They will pirouette and sway and head-bang while the sun rises and illuminates the sky.
