Fall Out Boy V Buble For Chart #1

Michael Buble is battling Fall Out Boy for the top spot on the ARIA Albums Chart this week, according to midweek figures.

Buble, who had a timely performance at The Logies recently, is headed towards his fifth Aussie number one with new record To Be Loved. Similarly, Fall Out Boy's two-show showcase tour has set them up well for the release of Save Rock And Roll. It may not be another Soundwave band, but it will be three weeks of metal/pop-punk supremacy if that manage to pull through to the number one spot.

The highest Fall Out Boy have reached in the past was four with Infinity On High in 2007. That record would go on to spend 50 weeks in the top 50.

Other releases that are tracking well this week include Major Lazer's Free The Universe. Diplo's dancehall project has will make its first appearance into the top 100 this weekend.

The Yeah Yeah Yeahs are on track to challenge for their second top ten album with Mosquito. It's Blitz managed eight in 2009. The Flaming Lips' album The Terror is off the pace of the front runners as it stands currently.

The Voice hasn't been setting the Singles Chart alight like it did in the first season yet, but host Ricky Martin will make his first chart appearance since 2005 with a new best of package.

Passenger is still the best bet in the ARIA Singles Chart with Let Her Go looking for a fourth consecutive week at the top. It will equal Macklemore & Ryan Lewis' Same Love as the with the most weeks spent at number one this year if it racks up the fourth week.

MTKO's Thank You continues to be the main challenger but Gold Coast's The Stafford Brothers continue to gather momentum with Hello, which features Lil Wayne and Christina Milian, and will likely crack the top three.

Psy has a new track as well – Gentlemen. Immediate figures are a little off its predecessor Gangnam Style however… The latter managed six consecutive weeks at number one last week and is ten times platinum.
