Sounds like these shows will be an EXTREME amount of fun.

After tickets to their first show in Naarm/Melbourne sold out quicker than expected, Extreme have added a second date to their upcoming Australian tour.
The full run of shows was announced last month, with the itinerary also including dates in Boorloo/Perth, Kaurna/Adelaide, Eora/Sydney and Meanjin/Brisbane. The first Melbourne show will take place at The Forum on Friday September 10, with the newly announced second show slated for Thursday September 14 (sandwiched between the Sydney and Brisbane shows on September 12 and 13, respectively).
As is the case for all the other dates on the itinerary, Extreme will joined by the legendary funk-metallers in Living Colour. It’s the first time that either band has toured Down Under since 2018.
The tour comes in support of Extreme’s forthcoming sixth album – simply titled Six – which is due out next Friday (June 9) as the follow-up to their 2008 record Saudades de Rock. Living Colour’s own most recent album, Shade (also their sixth full-length effort), arrived back in 2017.
Extreme shared the first preview of Six, a ripping hard-rock anthem called Rise, back in March. Upon its release, vocalist Gary Cherone shared in a statement: “Musically, it’s aggressive,” vocalist Gary Cherone shared in a statement. “Lyrically, it’s a cautionary tale on the rise and fall of fame. You get seduced into it. Once you’re on top, they’ll rip you apart and tear you down. That’s the nature of the beast.”
He added, “With EXTREME, there’s always a lot of passion and a little piss and vinegar. We’re not in competition with anybody else, but we strive to outdo ourselves. There are some moments on this album where we did. We’ve managed to stay together after all these years. We feel like we have something to prove when we get on stage or in the studio. Because of that, I believe some of these songs are among the best we’ve written.”
