Brisbane’s Open Season – the flagship live music and arts program presented by The Tivoli and the Princess Theatre – returns in 2024 with a stacked line-up of local and international artists.
Open Season is a months-long celebration of music and arts, taking place from Monday, 20 May, until Saturday, 27 July 2024.
Headlined by Texas post-rock outfit Explosions In The Sky, the event brings Blak Day Out, starring Emma Donovan and 3%, a 25th anniversary (and farewell) celebration of Elefant Traks – featuring Hermitude, The Herd, Urthboy and more – and heaps of other artists.
In terms of international acts, Open Season has booked a diverse and thrilling line-up, including Explosions In The Sky, Brooklyn soul singer INIKO - making their Australian debut at Open Season, American singer-songwriter Sky Ferreira returns down under after ten years, and thrilling US artist Yves Tumor is also set to tour Australia for the first time.
Elsewhere, Open Season has locked in US rockers Blonde Redhead and New Zealand’s Marlon Williams, as well as Aussie acts including Regurgitator, The Paper Kites, Forest Claudette, DICE and more.
The music line-up isn’t the only thing Open Season have announced today, revealing the Brisbane debut of experimental performance Queer PowerPoint and Australia’s largest street-art festival, taking place at The Tivoli car park, led by Damien Mitchell and David Lee Pereira. More additions will be announced in the coming weeks.
