The singer wasn’t very likeable before seeking help
UK artist Example (aka Elliot Greave) wasn't a very nice person a few years ago – actually the star admits he was a bit of a “twat” who took advantage of the rock & party lifestyle.
Greave told theMusic in a recent interview that his parents were very concerned about their son's behaviour, which prompted him to seek help.
“I told them what I'd been doing, what I'd been up to and the lifestyle I was living. It's been hard for them as they don't know much about the music industry, they both hate drugs and are not into partying or hedonism. So to see their son in this business was quite weird. We are a close family and I didn't want to disappoint them and knew I had to change.”
Talking to a therapist and maybe more importantly, someone who did not know him personally, was the catalyst for Greave to create his fourth LP The Evolution Of Man.

“From the therapy sessions I had a load of new ideas about songs. So many artists have exposed their personal life in song, so I thought, why not tell the world what I've been up to?”
