"WAKE ME UP INSIDE!"

Evanescence and Papa Roach vocalist Jacoby Shaddix gave Rock Am Ring attendees the nu-metal thrill of a lifetime when the Last Resort singer answered Amy Lee’s call, taking to the stage and performing the iconic 2003 hit, Bring Me To Life.
With both acts slated to perform at Germany’s Rock Am Ring on Saturday, 3 June, it worked out perfectly to have Shaddix reprise Paul McCoy of 12 Stones’ infamous rap verse. His performance rules – his tone is close to McCoy’s, and the chemistry between Shaddix and Lee on that stage was evident. You can check out the footage below.
In a recent interview with Metal Hammer, Lee discussed her reasoning behind the band withholding Bring Me To Life from Evanescence setlists for years.
“I stopped performing it a long time ago. We never really did perform it. When we're on tour, and we have somebody that fits into that spot, they jump up on the song,” she said.
“We were on tour with P.O.D, and we had Sonny [Sandoval, vocalist] get up a few times. And obviously, if we're ever in the same town as Paul [McCoy, 12 Stones vocalist], who originally did the part, we will have him come up, because it's fun and it's cool and nostalgic.”
She added, "But that part, that sound, that's not my style. That's why it was such a difficult pill to swallow, even on one song. But we won because we didn't have to change our whole sound.”
