Two shows to complement her Bluesfest appearance.
Erykah Badu, the practically undisputed Queen of modern soul music, is going to be back in Australia to play the Byron Bay Bluesfest next Easter. But for those who either can't make the trip to Byron or just want another chance to see this incredible performer, she has this morning announced two very special headline shows.
Since the release of her brilliant 1997 debut LP Baduizm, Badu has proved herself to be one of the most forward-thinking and constantly exciting soul artists around. An artist with a sharp social conscience and an unbelievable vocal ability, the only thing more breathtaking than her albums over the past 16 years have been her incredible stage shows, which Australia gets to experience once again next year.
Recent performances with the likes of Tyler, the Creator, Bonobo and Janelle Monae have seen her remain in the spotlight with younger audiences, but it will be all about the Queen when she plays two incredible headline shows in Sydney and Melbourne next April.
