Eminem To Drop New Album 'The Death Of Slim Shady' Next Week
Eminem launched his album campaign with a straight-up horror film about the “little baby devil” mentioned in his recent single, 'Houdini'.

We all knew Eminem would be dropping his new album, The Death Of Slim Shady (Coup De Grâce), this year, but now he’s revealed that said LP will drop next Friday (12 July).
He shared the album release date on Instagram yesterday (2 July), launching his album campaign with a straight-up horror film about the “little baby devil” mentioned in his recent single, Houdini.
Eminem has creeped out his fans with the album trailer, with commenters on Instagram calling the video “creepy,” asking “Am I dreaming?”, sharing a gif of Chucky, adding that the trailer recalls the building of comic book franchises, and the best comment: “This is better than marvel cinematics”.
In addition to the terrifying album trailer, Eminem dropped a new single referencing Tobey Maguire’s Spiderman in Tobey featuring Big Sean and BabyTron. You can listen to Tobey and watch the Death Of Slim Shady album trailer below.
On Eminem’s website, you can pre-save the album to your Spotify or pre-add it to your Apple Music account. The rapper also offers options to purchase the digital album.

The Death Of Slim Shady comes after two other Slim-related projects: Eminem’s only EP, the Slim Shady EP in December 1997, followed by The Slim Shady LP, released in February 1999 and featured the breakout single, My Name Is.
Eminem began teasing his upcoming album on social media back in April, dropping a video in which a true crime reporter detailed Slim Shady's untimely passing and stated:
“Through his complex and oft-criticised, tongue-twisting rhymes, the blonde anti-hero known as Slim Shady has had no shortage of enemies.”
The video then turned to 50 Cent, who quipped, “He’s not a friend, he’s a psychopath.”
The true crime reporter added, “The same rude lyrics and controversial antics may have ultimately led to his demise. Join me as we recreate the events that led to the murder of Slim Shady.”
At the end of the video, Eminem appeared and said, “I knew it was only a matter of time for Slim.”
The Death Of Slim Shady follows his surprise 2020 album, Music To Be Murdered By.
