The label deal will usher in the release of the ascendant muso's debut album.
Melbourne musician Quang Dinh — aka Moonlover — has become the latest act to join the growing label roster at Our Golden Friend, ahead of his debut album release in February.
The new deal sees Moonlover brought under the company's cabal of acts including Poppongene and recent recruits RVG, and his spacey, exploratory tunes — as exemplified by recent single and album title track Thou Shall Be Free — are a perfect fit for the label's eclectic aesthetic.
The artist will be releasing another new piece of music in November; before that, though, Moonlover will launch Thou Shall Be Free on Thursday 19 October in Melbourne (with support from China Beach) amid a string of upcoming tour dates with Saskwatch and Hachiku.
That run includes shows in Ballarat and his hometown as well as Sydney, Newcastle, Long Jetty, the Gold Coast, Brisbane and Byron Bay.

He's also a part of Melbourne's December Gizzfest Line-up along with King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, The Murlocs, Mild High Club, La Luz and more.
Moonlover recorded, performed and produced the Thou Shall Be Free album at his own Pink Slime Studios, with mixing by John Lee (Lost Animals, Beaches, Emma Russack) and mastering by Joe Carra (King Gizz, Courtney Barnett, Eddy Current Suppression Ring).
