Disturbed Singer Challenges Justin Bieber To A 'Smoke Off'

Disturbed vocalist David Draiman is currently on an "emergency trip" to Amsterdam, with the emergency being that he needed to get high.

The Bad Man singer has been posting tweets with pictures of him looking at complete peace or blissfully on a high. In one tweet, he wrote, "Hey @justinbieber, I hear you’re in #amsterdam! So am I! I challenge you to a smoke off!!!” accompanied by a photo of himself holding a dense bit of weed. So far, Justin Bieber hasn't responded to the challenge.

Draiman has been an outspoken fan of marijuana use throughout his career - the Disturbed song, Fire It Up, is an ode to weed. In a 2015 interview with Revolver (as cited by Loudwire), the singer declared that an estimated 95% of Disturbed tracks were written while he was high. 

Disturbed released their eighth album, Divisive, in November. The album includes an AI-generated music video for the single Bad Man.

Tristan Holmes directed the thrilling animated video for Bad Man. It was created with Midjourney AI technology that included over 1,000 frames, which took over a month of image entering prompts and making structures link together.

Along with Bad Man, Disturbed previously released the singles Hey You, Unstoppable, and the title track. Hey You, the album's first single, already sits at over 25 million plays on streaming platforms.

Since their formation in 1996, Disturbed have sold 16 million albums globally. Their single Down With The Sickness from the year 2000 record The Sickness is arguably their most known work and is synonymous with turn-of-the-millennium metal. 

The band is one of few acts to have five consecutive number-one debuts on the US Billboard Top 200. They sit alongside Metallica as the only hard rock acts to ever do so in the chart's history.

Justin Bieber postponed his scheduled tour of Australia and New Zealand, which would have taken place in November last year.

The postponement was the latest in a string of battles for the Bieber tour, originally slated to begin in 2020 before being postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Promoters have confirmed that all tickets will remain valid for the as-yet-unknown new dates. 

Despite consistent struggles with his health in 2022, Bieber had a world-beating year, smashing out global hits, including ARIA platinum plus smashes Anyone, Hold On, Peaches and Ghost, as well as his collaboration with Aussie hitmaker The Kid LAROI on Stay.
