Did Fall Out Boy Just Confirm They’re Playing Good Things Festival 2023?

Fall Out Boy have just teased their first dates in Australia since March 2018. Posting a The Simpsons gif on Twitter, the band captioned the cheeky post with the following caption: an Australian flag, a kangaroo emoji, and the SOON symbol.

The only question is, will Fall Out Boy be announced as the headliners for Good Things Festival with the 2023 line-up dropping at 8 am tomorrow? Could we be seeing Fall Out Boy as soon as December? Only time will tell.

The hype for Good Things 2023 is enormous – we’ve been waiting a long time for this line-up to drop, and there have been no leaks until now (unless Fall Out Boy just leaked their appearance).

Good Things occurs from 1 December in Melbourne, followed by Sydney on the 2nd, and Brisbane on the 3rd. The festival returns to Flemington Racecourse, Centennial Park, and the Brisbane Showgrounds.

Last week, Good Things dropped a teaser video to excite its fans, with the intro to the song Goddess by US alternative act PVRIS playing in the background. Is the project of vocalist Lynn Gunn and bassist Brian MacDonald confirmed to appear at this year’s festival?

We’ve been crossing our fingers for Fall Out Boy to return to Australia and possibly headline Good Things since the devastating cancellation of the Hella Mega Tour in 2020, which would’ve seen the Sugar, We’re Goin’ Down rockers tour down under with Green Day and Weezer.

Last year’s Good Things Festival was headlined by Bring Me The Horizon and Deftones. Elsewhere on the line-up, NOFX, TISM, Kisschasy playing United Paper People in its entirety, The Amity Affliction, Lacuna Coil, Jinjer, Electric Callboy, and many more also appeared. In May, Fall Out Boy guitarist Joe Trohman announced his return to the band after taking a break for his mental health. Trohman briefly departed the group just days after they announced their eighth album, So Much (For) Stardust, in January, released on 24 March. The album announcement was led by the banging single, Love From The Other Side.
