Daryl Braithwaite To Drop New Single 'It's You' Next Week

Daryl Braithwaite is gearing up to release new music, announcing that he’s dropping a new single, It’s You, next Friday (4 October).

It’s You follows Braithwaite’s Top 50 single Love Songs, released in 2020. A song originally intended for P!nk but passed onto Braithwaite through writers Michael Fatkin and Peter Karpin, Love Songs ended up becoming a favourite in his live shows.

It’s You finds Braithwaite teaming up with writers Michael Fatkin, Jamie N Commons, and Jeff Goldford. The song follows the beginning of his tour, You Won’t Go Home Whistling The Lights, which started at the Mundi Mundi Bash last month.

Braithwaite shared his plans to release It’s You on Facebook yesterday (27 September). He wrote, “I’m excited to announce that my new single ‘It’s You’ will be released next Friday, October 4th.

On Saturday, 7 December, Braithwaite will perform at the Mornington Racecourse in Victoria as Tina Arena and Richard Marx play a special show presented by ALWAYS LIVE. Tina Arena will be celebrating 30 years of her third album, Don’t Ask.

In addition to Braithwaite, special guests Kate Ceberano and Southern Sons will perform at the show. More ticketing information is available here.

Braithwaite made headlines in March of last year when he joined Harry Styles on stage in Sydney for a rendition of The Horses.

“It’s our last show in Australia, so it only felt right to do something a little bit special,” Styles said to his audience. “Please welcome, Mr Daryl Braithwaite!”

Styles bowed to Braithwaite before launching into the song and added, “He's a Tim Tam, he's a shoey, he's Vegemite... He's Mr Daryl Braithwaite.”
