Cosmic Psychos Vocalist Unveils First Children's Book

Ross Knight, the charismatic vocalist of Cosmic Psychos, has unveiled his first-ever children's book, The Incredible Tail Of Little Roo.

While he is better known as the vocalist of the beloved Aussie rock band and just finished up a leg of opening for Guns N' Roses across Australia, Knight has shared the inspiration of witnessing a kangaroo hopping "up the guts of the road," which evolved into a story about a curious kangaroo causing havoc.

The singer added, "I never dreamt of becoming a children's book author. And writing a kid's book certainly wasn't as easy as I thought."

Filmmaker, musician and Cosmic Psychos manager Matt Weston helped Knight put his story together in book form - the larrikin spirit and sense of humour throughout the band's discography is also in the book's heart, making an engaging new story for children.

Cartoonist, animator, and long-time collaborator Lluis Fuzzhound brought Little Roo to life with his unmistakable signature style. When quizzed about the project, he commented, "If you had of told 14-year-old me that I'd be making a book with Ross from the Cosmic Psychos, I would have thought I'd made it!"

The Incredible Tail Of Little Roo is now available to pre-order via Love Police Books and will be in stores from 1 February.

In 2019, Cosmic Psychos secured a spot on Amazon Prime, with the band’s 2013 documentary, Blokes You Can Trust, added to the streaming service globally.

As described by director Matt Weston, the film “follows the band’s colourful history, as well as the enigmatic and entertaining founding member Ross Knight” and features interviews with Eddie Vedder, Buzz Osborne (Melvins), Nevermind producer and Garbage drummer Butch Vig, Ray Ahn (Hard-Ons) and more.

It covers three decades of Cosmic Psychos, from their extensive international touring, line-up changes, label issues, influence, the passing of guitarist Robbie Watts in 2006 and more. Check it out here.
