A "surreal and painful" experience
Bright Eyes, Desaparecidos frontman and acclaimed solo musician Conor Oberst has spoken out about the rape allegations made against him late last year, calling the situation a "surreal and painful" experience.
Claims were made by a woman in December against Oberst, accusing the artist of raping her in 2003, when she was 16 years of age. The woman admitted she lied about the story in July and issued a public apology to the singer-songwriter over the incident.
Speaking to The Music's Hannah Story recently ahead of his upcoming Australian tour, Oberst said he's just happy to be able to move on from the incident.
