Yesterday, the general ticket sale for Cold Chisel’s upcoming The Big Five-O national tour began and was met with phenomenal demand.
There was so much demand that the Aussie rock legends sold 150,000 tickets to 16 shows within hours. The band is now looking to add new dates, so there’s less chance of their fans missing out.
“We’ve been completely blown away by the public response today,” Cold Chisel singer Jimmy Barnes commented in a press release yesterday afternoon. “We know a lot of people missed out and will be feeling disappointed, but the demand has been bigger than we’ve ever seen for any of our other tours.
“We’re now scrambling to try and add a few more gigs in late November, so hopefully, we’ll have some more news about that in the coming week.”

16 shows on the band’s tour sold out, including the two huge “circus tent” concerts in Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney, as well as additional dates that were announced for Sandalford Wines in Perth, Mornington Racecourse (VIC) and Qudos Bank Arena (Sydney).
Fans who sign up for waitlists via official ticket sellers or on the Cold Chisel website will be the first to hear about further ticket releases and extra shows. You can sign up for Cold Chisel’s waiting list here.
While so many shows have sold out, tickets to the band’s headlining appearance at the VAILO Adelaide 500 are still available – you can find those tickets here.
