Coastal Jam, a music festival headlined by Lime Cordiale and starring local and international acts, has been cancelled. The event was due to take place on Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula at the Rosebud Village Green on Saturday, 13 January.
Festival co-founder Adam Metwally posted a candid video on Instagram last Friday, citing low ticket sales for the cancellation and thanking those who bought tickets and supported Coastal Jam from its inception.
This year’s line-up was led by Lime Cordiale, with the festival also due to boast sets from US acts Austin Millz, Bryce Vine and Sun Room. Additional Aussie acts such as DICE, Ben Gerrans, Mathilde Anne, Sunday Honey, and more were set to perform.
In a statement, Metwally wrote, “It’s with a heavy heart that I announce the cancellation of our festival scheduled for January 13th this year. As a small business in event promotion, we’ve faced significantly greater challenges than usual, especially with the cost of living crisis impacting us all.
“People waiting last minute leading to slower ticket sales, a major festival / international tour every other week and the overall financial constraints for our audience have unfortunately led us to this tough decision,” the statement continued.
As well as announcing the festival’s cancellation, Metwally has gone above and beyond for Coastal Jam supporters, providing refund and back-up event options for all ticketholders.
