A taste of her forthcoming album.
Aussie singer-songwriter Clare Bowditch has a big year ahead, today unveiling a new single and run of East Coast tour dates in support.
Woman is in the first tune from her forthcoming solo studio album and is one that “is not comfortable or safe”.
“In our girlhood, we can’t help but swallow the stories the world tells us – the ones about why we matter, and who we need to be in order to ‘belong’,” Bowditch said in an open letter accompanying the announcement.
“But in our womanhood, we have a chance to sing a different song, to tell a bigger story for ourselves and for the girls and women who don’t yet have that privilege.”
With Alice Skye in support, the Woman tour will kick off in Melbourne in late May before taking on Newcastle and Sydney.
