While Chris Hemsworth has certainly made a reputation as a major music buff in recent years, the actor has surprised fans again by debuting his drumming skills alongside Ed Sheeran last week.
Hemsworth, well-known for starring in the Thor franchise and Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, took to the stage at an Ed Sheeran concert in Bucharest, Romania, over the weekend. Invited by the British songwriter, Hemsworth played drums to the slow ballad Thinking Out Loud in front of 70,000 fans, marking one of the highlights of the show.
Hemworth’s love of music has been a widely-known aspect of his personality, with the actor plugging Australian duo Fanning Dempsey National Park’s debut work The Deluge in April.
Hemsworth has also previously shared love for other acts, such as Melbourne act The Teskey Brothers and Irish singer Dermot Kennedy, as well as being a proud participant and official 2022 Ambassador for the music industry’s yearly Ausmusic T-Shirt Day.
While surprising to fans, Chris Hemsworth revealed on Instagram that the concert cameo had been planned as far back as December 2023 for Hemsworth’s latest show, Limitless with Chris Hemsworth.

As Sheeran describes on Hemsworth’s behalf, the episode of Limitless that involves Chris’ drumming stint is “a documentary on cognitive health and the benefits of learning instruments”.
During the show’s first season, Hemsworth revealed that he has a genetic disposition for Alzheimer’s disease, fuelling education around the disease and additional health awareness for the upcoming second season.
