The annual festival will hold its second event on the Gold Coast this May
After a successful first showing in 2015, the Surfers Paradise LIVE music festival is making plans for round two this May, freshly announcing Aussie icons the Choirboys, stalwart alt-rockers Thirsty Merc and one-time Idol mainstay Anthony Callea aboard this year's line-up, among others.
Also joining the batch of acts headed to the Gold Coast next month will be The Voice winner Harrison Craig, pop-rock crew Little Sea, stalwart sextet Cheap Fakes and many more.
"The Gold Coast, and particularly Surfers Paradise, is an entertainment mecca, and while some venues have come and gone throughout the years, the spirit of live music lives on and will be strengthened in an exciting multi-street city festival," Surfers Paradise Alliance chief executive Mike Winlaw said in a statement.
"We are really pleased with the fantastic line-up that we have put together for Surfers Paradise LIVE 2016 — there's a huge variety of musical styles, all with one common denominator: they are all great live acts."

The festival will take place across Surfers Paradise, including two main stages in Cavill Mall and on the Esplanade, as well as in a selection of bars and restaurants throughout the precinct. Perhaps best of all, the event is free and family-friendly.
"We have a great music culture and the best possible climate for an outside music event like this," Winlaw said.
"We work hard to provide entertainment for everyone who lives in and visits our city and Surfers Paradise LIVE is a great example of how we can continue to highlight the features of our town — sun, surf, stars and live music, for free."
The 2016 Surfers Paradise LIVE music festival runs from 6-8 May in Surfers Paradise.
