You know you’re a superstar when you’re famous enough to name food after yourself. That’s what’s happened with music icon Cher, who’s launched a new gelato brand called Cherlato. It’s genius, really: now we want gelato.
Sharing a video on Instagram and Twitter on Sunday night (23 July), Cher showcased a new pink and orange food truck with her picture and the Cherlato brand name painted on the side.
“Yep, This Is Real…. I’m Launching My Gelato….,” Cher wrote to accompany the video. “Watch out LA!”
Teasing “more to come,” the Believe singer churned back time and wrote, “All Started 5 Years Ago And Now It’s Finally HAPPENING”.

The Cherlato Instagram account has also been launched, with the first delicious post revealing Cher’s gelato brand has teamed up with New Zealand-based ice cream company Giapo. The New Zealand brand is renowned for selling gluten-free ice creams to its customers.
The Giapo caption about the collaboration reads: “The culmination of a decades-long journey to find the freshest and most amazing ice creams in the world, Cherlato brings those taste sensations to the streets of LA.
“A few years ago, Cher met Giapo, and together, the pair brainstormed, taste-tested, experimented and eventually conceived Cherlato - the boldest and coldest gelato creations LA has ever had.
“If you like gelato, you’re gonna love Cherlato”.

Legendary songwriter Diane Warren, coming up with gelato name suggestions, added, “If I Could Turn Back Lime vegan gelato”.
The comments kept coming on Instagram, with a user joking, “Do You Believe In Ice Cream After Lunch”, and a fan commenting, “serving us looks for decades and now she’s serving us gelato”.
Earlier this month, DMA’S’ cover of Believe was voted Australia’s favourite Like A Version on triple j’s Hottest 100 of its iconic cover series.
DMA’s Like A Version first aired back in 2016, which gained significant praise for their captivating performance of the legendary track. The band said about the win, “It’s daunting doing Like A Version - what it has become has been so amazing. Listening to it today, there are so many great covers in there. I’m speechless.”
