The cult-favourite US singer-songwriter returns for her first full tour here in more than five years.
Celebrated US gothic-rock/folk/doom-metal luminary Chelsea Wolfe has announced her first full tour of Australia since 2012 for March next year.
Following a couple of warm-up shows in New Zealand, Wolfe will bring her visceral, vivid live performances to stages in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Perth on the back of her recently released fifth studio full-length, Hiss Spun.
Like its predecessor, Abyss (2015), Hiss Spun earned Wolfe a landing on the Billboard 200 albums chart and broadly positive reviews, while her 2016 appearance Down Under at Tasmania's Dark Mofo event was rapturously received.
The Music reviewer Catherine Delpero described the outing as "very serious … serious guitars, serious, ear-exploding bass and seriously haunting vocals" that left the audience "transfixed for most of the set".

"This type of music is less underground and more a reflection of society that doesn't see life as all rainbows and unicorns, there for us to acknowledge the darker side of life," she wrote. "Honesty like that is pretty refreshing."
