The singer appeared in court earlier today
Grammy-award winning singer CeeLo Green has pleaded not guilty to giving a woman ecstasy during July 2012, with the Gnarls Barkley vocalist appearing in court earlier today.
The artist, who also stars on America's version of The Voice as a coach, was charged only hours earlier before his appearance with furnishing a controlled substance, according to the Daily Mail. Green wasn't charged though over the alleged rape that the woman involved claimed occurred the night of the incident.
If convicted over the drug charge, Green faces up to four years in prison but could be given probation as this is his first offense. The case will continue in court later next month.
Green, real name Thomas DeCarlo Callaway, began his career as a member of the southern hip hop crew Goodie Mob. He has had continued success in Gnarls Barkley and with his solo career.
