Australian Idol alum and powerhouse singer Casey Donovan is heading for Adelaide this Christmas to perform at Channel 7’s Carols By Candlelight.
Donovan said about performing at the 79th edition of the event, “I am excited to be part of this year’s Carols celebration in Adelaide for the first time. It is always such a delight to perform Christmas carols and a joy to see all singing along and getting into the festive spirit.”
Adelaide’s Carols By Candlelight will air on Saturday, 9 December, on Channel 7. Punters can attend the event at Elder Park.
Seven News’ Rosanna Mangiarelli added in a statement via TV Tonight, “I absolutely love celebrating the joy of Christmas with the South Australian community.
“Hosting our beautiful State’s longest-running Christmas concert for the past 19 years has been an incredible experience and something I truly cherish every season. This year’s concert is going to be phenomenal, with a mix of local and national artists.”
This year’s Carols By Candlelight in Adelaide is also set to celebrate Australian country music with Amber Lawrence – who collaborated with Donovan earlier this year; could we be seeing a Christmas duet? – and Beccy Cole scheduled to perform.

Last month, Donovan was one of thousands of people stranded at Burning Man festival after the Black Rock Desert site was hammered with 1.3 centimetres of rain.
Donovan wrote on Instagram, “Found some WiFi...Have been rained into the Playa here at Burning Man ..Good thing is, we are safe, we have food and ‘dryish’ shelter it is very moist here and forecast is for more rain over the next few days...fingers and toes crossed for some sunshine to clear things up...and I'll get in touch when I find some more WiFi”.
