It's going to be close.
Australian music icons The Seekers are looking to go out with a bang, with their Farewell LP primed for a top debut on this week’s ARIA Albums chart, if they’re able to beat South Korean boy band BTS.
BTS’ latest EP, Map Of The Soul: Persona, is aiming for a top 3 debut, while The Seekers – whose recent ABC documentary, A World Of Their Own, racked up a huge viewership earlier this month - are not too far behind.
As its title suggests, Farewell will be the final release from the ‘60s icons and is made up of live recordings from the band’s last Melbourne show in 2013.
Meanwhile, UK electronic duo The Chemical Brothers’ No Georgraphy and Bluesfest headliner Norah Jones’ Begin Again are both looking at top 15 debuts as new releases from Anderson .Paak, Sara Storer, Emma Bunton, and SIA & Diplo’s LSD enter the Albums char.
Local legends Amy Shark and The Presets are both expected to climb the charts with their respective latest LPs.
