He's been there a loooong time
UK troubadour Ed Sheeran's still sitting pretty on the ARIA chart, with Bernard Fanning and In Hearts Wake coming close but not quite managing to dethrone him and his latest record, ÷ (Divide), from #1 last week. This week, synth-popstar Halsey and pop punks All Time Low are up to the challenge, both expected to finish in the top three and possibly kick Sheeran to the kerb.
Halsey's sophomore effort, concept album Hopeless Fountain Kingdom, has been receiving universal acclaim since its release last Friday, shooting to #1 on iTunes for days after its release, while the Baltimore punks' eighth album, Last Young Renegade, is almost looking at a #1 debut in the UK.
Indie rockers alt-j are also debuting this week with Relaxer, expected to land within the top five alongside Pete Murray's new album, Camacho.
Rounding out the debuts this week is Roger Waters with Is This The Life We Really Want?, Dua Lipa's self-titled, Husky's Punchbuzz, Rupert Gregson-Williams' Wonder Woman (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) and House Vs Hurricane's Filth.
