"A chance to get re-inspired and recharge with creative energy."
BTS have confirmed they’ll be taking an “extended period of rest” following their final 2021 shows in the US.
The K-pop megastars made the announcement via their label, Big Hit Music, marking the second time they’ve had a break following a very brief hiatus in 2019.
“This period of rest will provide the members of BTS who have tirelessly committed themselves to their activities, a chance to get re-inspired and recharge with creative energy,” reads a statement from Big Hit Music.
“It will also be the first time for them since their debut to spend the holiday season with their families.”
The statement goes on to say that the break will allow them to be “focusing on preparing for the concert [in Seoul in March] and release of the new album that will mark the beginning of a ‘new chapter'.”

Dominating charts across the globe, BTS recently picked up a Grammy nomination for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance.
