Bruce Springsteen Leads A Singalong In An Irish Pub

Can you imagine walking into your local pub and finding Bruce Springsteen sitting at a table, enjoying a pint, and leading a sing-along with people in the neighbourhood?

That’s exactly what happened on Wednesday night at The Burrow in Rathangan, Co. Kildare. 

The rock star quickly took the lead and started a sing-along to the Born In The USA classic, My Hometown. He later reportedly joked, “You guys, I’m firing the E Street band, I’m hiring (you),” per Always Classic. Is he an honorary Irish citizen now?

Springsteen was spotted in Kildare tracing his ancestral roots back to Rathangan.

While visiting Dublin earlier this week, Springsteen visited the Pogues vocalist, Shane MacGowan, who spent some time in hospital in December.

MacGowan’s wife, Victoria Mary Clarke, shared the below photo of the pair and wrote, “What an amazing honour and a beautiful experience to get a visit from The Boss. Such a truly wonderful man and a total genius!”

A few months ago, Clarke spoke with the Irish Mirror newspaper and shared an update about her husband’s condition. She revealed that the Fairytale Of New York singer was admitted to the hospital and that he was feeling "frustrated." 

She recently asked fans to send "prayers and healing vibes" before issuing another update: "I just wanted to thank everyone who has been sending good wishes for Shane MacGowan," she wrote. "He is being treated for an infection, and the doctors are confident that he will be ok. I am just incredibly grateful to them and to all of you".

Springsteen’s recent US tour attracted controversy surrounding its "dynamic pricing".

In July last year, the pricing structure made headlines when several tickets to The Boss’ tour were listed for up to $5,000 US. While fans were outraged, Ticketmaster clarified that “overall, 18% of Springsteen’s US tour tickets sold for under $99, and only 1% of tickets sold for more than $1,000 US”.

“Promoters and artist representatives set pricing strategy and price range parameters on all tickets, including dynamic and fixed price points,” a spokesperson for the ticketing giant told The Music.
