Brisbane emo band We Set Sail have gotten creative in order to score tickets to see My Chemical Romance and Jimmy Eat World on Monday, 13 March, in their home city.
Appealing to Jimmy Eat World on Instagram, the local band posted pictures of an actual videotape that has a live recording of the Clarity band from 2001 in exchange for tickets to the show.
“Jimmy Eat World I will swap you this live footage of your show at The Zoo back in 2001 for five tickets for us to come to the show on Monday 13th March in Brisbane,” We Set Sail wrote on Instagram.
They added, “Will also throw some We Set Sail vinyl and merch. Let me know what is cool, Jimmy Eat World. We Set Sail are keen to come!”
Will Jimmy Eat World respond?
One of the most celebrated and influential bands in their genre, Jimmy Eat World will bring nearly three decades and ten albums worth of emotive rock tunes to the stadium environment in support of My Chemical Romance, when MCR's reunion tour finally reaches Australia.
Lead by vocalist and lead guitarist Jim Adkins, and completed by rhythm guitarist/backing vocalist Tom Linton, bassist Rick Burch, and drummer Zach Lind, the Arizona quartet are no strangers to Aussie audiences, having made countless visits over the years, inspiring big emotions and big ovations with each tour down under.
Revered by '90s emo kids for their 1999 genre-staple Clarity and embraced by the rest of the world thanks to the crossover success of early-'00s records Bleed American and Futures, Jimmy Eat World have a catalogue of anthems the envy of most acts.
Fans attending the My Chemical Romance tour can expect to hear Jimmy Eat World playing the likes of Lucky Denver Mint, The Middle, Sweetness, Bleed American, Pain, Work, Futures, Big Casino, Chase This Light and more.
It’s been a long wait, but My Chemical Romance will finally make their return to Australia next week. Find tickets here.
Fans of the US act have been waiting with bated breath ever since COVID cancelled their Download Festival Australia headline slot in 2020 and their 2022 tour was pushed back to this year.
My Chemical Romance released their first new original music since their 2019 reformation, The Foundations Of Decay, in May 2022.
